The Alaska Highway has been called “The Trail of 42,” “the longest main street,” and “the crooked road.” The highway, a World War II project, didn’t spring from nowhere.
Join us as we take a topical look at the idea of a highway, the promotion of the idea, the wartime building of the highway, and the postwar conversion from military road to civilian highway.
ATA’s First Vice-President, Eric Knapp, is a resident of Alaska and has done exhibits on several topics related to Alaska.
